OUTLINE APPLICATION
Linden Homes has now submitted an outline planning application for the development of the Hampshire Farm site.
The registration of the application follows, extensive consultation and discussions with the local community, its representatives and the Borough council.
This application seeks permission for the development of the site, allocated as one of the Borough Council’s reserved housing sites, with 280 new homes alongside matters relating to access, a doctor’s surgery and pharmacy.
Importantly, Linden Homes’ outline application seeks to accord with the Borough Council’s own wishes for the site, including the provision of 17 hectares of public open space. While all detailed matters, other than access, will be included within a subsequent reserved matters application, the illustrative layout proposed for the open space reflects community feedback and currently includes a mix of beneficial uses ranging from a nature conservation area to local allotments.
This application therefore brings forward an allocated site for development with a well planned scheme that is sensitive to the area while providing beneficial local improvements.
